We offer our customers the chance to have their antique furniture restored from the ground up – a nut and bolt restoration if you will – or to have just a specific stage of the restoration process completed. We offer services based around thorough and careful cleaning of antique furniture, re-application of old finishes and polishes, overcoats and protection and preservation.

Mastercraft Upholstery is a family run business which has been in operation for over 25 years, so we know what techniques are appropriate and respectful of a huge variety of woods, metals, fabrics and other materials, have their long term preservation in mind, and would have been appropriate to have been used during their heyday, thereby ensuring authentic treatment of the piece of furniture.

A good quality piece of antique furniture made from traditional hard-wearing materials will last for many generations if cared for in the correct manner. Fabrics, coverings and throws will not last long and need to be carefully looked after and, from time to time, replaced, in order to preserve the function and value of the antique furniture.
